JOHN KEARNEY | Irish Community Rapid Response
John is the founder of Irish Community Rapid Response (ICRR) a network of first responders providing emergency medical care to patients in remote areas.
Acting as a 'mobile intensive care unit,' ICRR is a network of highly trained volunteer emergency medical personnel who can provide treatment in life threatening circumstances.
ICRR's team has deployed more than 100 doctors to assist nearly 500 patients with an estimated 2 lives saved each month. Working in conjunction with the Department of Emergency Medicine at University College Dublin (UCD), ICRR has enlisted 115 volunteer GP's to date, and aims to have 500 GP's signed up for voluntary service by 2020. In 2017, ICRR plans to raise €1m to fund a fleet of air ambulances.
