Localizer Selection Process

The Localizer programme has established a number of criteria, including:
Innovation with evidence:
A system changing social or environmental innovation, with sufficient evidence that the innovation produces positive results;
Leading Social Entrepreneur:
Lead by a leading social entrepreneur with ability to develop a successful entry strategy and attract the necessary resources;
Local Need:
Innovation must address an area of significant social or environmental need in the regional context, as identified by or confirmed with relevant local leaders;
Capacity & Commitment:
Social entrepreneur must demonstrate the organisational & financial capacity for expansion and the commitment to deliver;
Potential for Success:
Sufficient evidence that there is potential to attract local champions and finance.
Nominations are taken from across the Ashoka Fellowship based on local demand for innovation in a particular problem area and also from the supply of innovations ready to globalise.
